History

SunRadio is a three-piece indie-rock band formed in late 2004 by Miso Gogh, Brendan Behan and Matty "Highlife" Money in Seoul. Gogh and Behan (and the talented Vadim on bass) had played most of the year in the band the Squids, which was formed mainly as an outlet for Gogh's catchy, tuneful indie pop rock songs. The Squids performed often around Seoul, for Korean audiences in the underground rock clubs of the Hongdae area and for the mostly ex-pat crowds in grungy Itaewon.

In a December personnel change, Money was tapped as bassist and the band picked up where the Squids left off and Gogh started writing more and edgier songs. After a slow early winter 2005 (hectic work schedules and extended vacations) the band got serious about practicing and performing in March. Their biggest gig yet came when they were invited to play a fund raiser for a Korean orphanage organized by Work and Play, a Seoul-based website that caters to expats. Despite a short (faulty rented amps, not beer bottles) the packed house gave the band a warm reception.

The next chance to play came after reading about an indie rock festival in the newspaper. The band auditoned and were chosen to fill the closing slot for the 2-day festival in April. Playing to a room full of sweaty Korean teens and a small entourage of foreign friends and fans, the band had their best sounding and best recieved show yet. As well as their first whiff of Asian pop idol mania as fans asked for photos with the band and went giddy as they "left the building."

The band is now practicing for upcoming shows and mixing a 4-song demo CD due out by the end of April - uh.. May... uh, I mean June.. could be July - make that September.

Miso Gogh (vocals, guitars, composer, writer) hails from Kitchener/Waterloo, Canada, where he played and wrote with the Continentals and Stereo in the Park (currently known as the Miniatures). When not writing songs or performing with SunRadio he dabbles in acting, and voice work in Seoul. He currently resides in Seoul with SunRadio #1 fan Michelle and their pets Pants and Asia.

Brandon at J Bar
Brendan Behan (drums, facial contortions) comes from the Heart of Dixie where he played in art and indie rock bands (the Others, Them Thievin' Crows) in his college days. He currently lives in Seoul (alone, ladies.)

Matty at Alley Studio
Matty "Highlife" Money (bass, backing vocals) comes from the tiny nook of Orangeville, Canada. Dragged kicking and screaming from his country/acoustic roots into the plateau that is rock'n'roll, he has put down his six string for the four and fuzz. His musical history includes a list of small projects such as the ever not popular "aquaintences". Finally, finding himself in the right place at the right time he's keeping it simple with SunRadio.
